Monty L. Welsh, Sr. age 72, of Alliance,
went to be with the Lord at 7:16
p.m. Tuesday,
April 1, 2008 at Mercy
Medical Center.
He was born in Alliance
May 5, 1935 to
Walter and Verdie (Minor) Welsh.
Monty was a member of the First
Baptist Church
where he was a former usher and cooked for Macedonia Ministries. He
was employed as an electrical welder by Alliance Structural for 26
years until his retirement in 1978.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, REACT, CB
Club, Ohio Big Buck Club and was an avid
hunter and fisherman having enjoyed outdoor activities. He dearly
loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and
great great grandson.
Monty was a member of the Ohio National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley J. (Kendrick) Welsh, whom he
married April 17, 1954; one daughter, Kathleen (Mike) Bungard; three sons, Monty L. Welsh, Jr. and Keith
A. (Lucinda) Welsh, of Alliance and Scott A. (Sharron)
Welsh of Limaville; ten grandchildren,
Michael, Chris, Bryon, Monty III, Nikki, George, Walter, Patricia,
Jeremy and Taylor; 27 great grandchildren; one great, great
grandson; one brother, John (Mary) Welsh of Alliance; one sister,
Bonnie (James) Myers of Sebring, and two sisters-in-law, Gail and
Linda Welsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Errol
and Eric Welsh.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, April 5, 2008
at First Baptist
Church with Pastor
Gordon Thomas officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one
hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland
Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church
Remodeling Fund, 1659 W. State St.
Alliance, Ohio 44601.
